"body": "**Meera Khurana**, 44, of Delhi, proprietor of Khurana Events and planner of the Rathore–Malhotra wedding, was found collapsed on the photo-point stair of the old wing at **Kesar Bhawan**, a heritage haveli hotel off Amer Road, at 23:05 on Thursday 19 November — the sangeet night of a three-day wedding. She was found by her associate and the wedding photographer, who had climbed to prepare the point for the next morning. Resuscitation was attempted; she was declared dead at SMS Hospital at 23:58.\n\nKhurana had run the wedding to her own master run-sheet, and by its timings had gone up alone at a quarter past ten to walk the photo point before releasing it — her stated practice at every venue. The stair was roped off by the lighting contractor and the old wing has been closed to guests since the monsoon.\n\nThe pathologist places death between **22:00 and 23:00**. Five persons connected with the wedding were on or about the premises: the hotel's general manager, the lighting contractor, the deceased's associate planner, the groom's father, and the house electrician. Their accounts of the evening do not agree.\n\nOn Friday morning the electrical inspector opened the contractor's locked distribution board. The earth-leakage breaker inside was bridged by a single crimped copper jumper. The lock was undamaged. The breaker, tested afterwards, was in perfect order.",

Guests reach the stair only through the old wing's corridor door, which carries **key-card controller B**; vendors reach the same terrace by the open **service stair** on the scaffold side, which has no reader and no camera. The old wing has been closed to guests since the monsoon.\n\nA **floodlight** of the wedding rig is clamped to the balustrade's upper rail; at the clamp, the lamp's cable shows a **perished rubber sleeve** with conductor exposed against the bracket. The **washing channel** from the mehndi station crosses the stone at the stair's foot, and the stone was wet through the evening. The contractor's **rope** was found still hooked across the stair's second step.\n\nThe deceased was found on the fourth step, her run-sheet beneath her. There is no sign of any other person on the stair and no disturbance.\n\nAt the foot of the service stair stands the contractor's rented **distribution board**, padlocked. The **padlock is undamaged**; its single key was produced from the contractor's own ring. Opened by the electrical inspector on Friday at 10:30 in the contractor's presence, the board's 30mA earth-leakage breaker was found **bridged by a crimped copper jumper** across its line terminals — clean trade work, crimped with commercial lugs. The rig, energised from 19:55, ran all night without interruption.\n\nThe photographer's drone case, brought up at 23:05, stood unopened at the stair's foot.",

"body": "The deceased was a female aged 44 years. Cause of death was **electrocution**. An entry mark crosses the right palm and fingers in a **linear beaded pattern matching the balustrade's cast moulding**; the exit wound is on the left sole. The findings are consistent with hand-to-feet passage of mains current through the trunk, arresting the heart. The marks are those of a sustained grip on a fixed conductor, not of momentary or battery contact.\n\nThere are no other injuries. The stomach was near-empty — the household reports the deceased observed the mehndi-day fast — and blood alcohol was nil. Coronary vessels were healthy. Death is placed between **22:00 and 23:00** on 19 November.\n\nThe rented distribution board was received with its breaker and the recovered **copper jumper** as Articles 2 and 3. With the jumper removed, the earth-leakage breaker was bench-tested: it disconnects at **30 milliamperes in 28 milliseconds**, within its rating — the device is in perfect order. With the jumper in place, the breaker is electrically absent: fault current from the old-wing circuit's damaged lamp cable passed to the balustrade without interruption for as long as the rig was energised.\n\nThe jumper is machine-crimped with commercial lugs; reference samples for comparison were taken from stocks at the contractor's yard and from the house store.",
